Governance is typically how a company manages everyday activity in order to sustain its operating model and fulfill its vision. LinkedIn’s user agreement outlines company guidelines and policy to the users.
LinkedIns mission is to connect the world’s professionals to allow them to be more productive and successful (LinkedIn Corporation 2014). LinkedIn’s services are designed to promote economic opportunity for members by enabling millions of professionals to meet, exchange ideas, learn, and find opportunities or employees, and work (2014). In order to have a LinkedIn account you must be a minimum of eighteen years of age. Users are encouraged to keep membership and password information private and confidential. If users purchase any services they must agree to honour payments or their subscription will be terminated (2014). LinkedIn requests that you please respect the platform and only publish truthful information. LinkedIn thrives on being a credible social networking site that is accurate and user friendly. Users own content they post, however LinkedIn has a non-exclusive license to user information (2014). The user agreement states there is a limit of liability and no warranty with the networking platform.
